1st Battalion, 25th Marines

Unit Reunion

Semper Fi Fund was honored to take part and contribute to a successful 10th anniversary unit reunion for 1st Battalion 25th Marines (1/25) — based out of Fort Devens, Massachusetts.

From October 7-9, 2016, the 1/25 held the reunion to commemorate its 2006 OIF deployment to Iraq, its participation in the Battle of Fallujah, the loss of 11 fellow Marines and Sailors and to honor Gold Star families.

More than 650 personnel attended the event at the Marriott Copley Place hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. In attendance were 400 Marines and Sailors and 250 guests, including LtGen Larry Nicholson, III MEF CG; MajGen Burke Whitman, Director, Marine and Family Division, M&RA and Bing West, Former Marine and distinguished author. Fifteen clinicians from Veterans Affairs and the Vet Center were also available to offer on-site counseling and resources and to provide assistance with questions regarding claims.

The event featured a veteran service providers reception, a formation and re-dedication at the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial, a Gold Star family and military spouse meeting, as well as the 1/25 unit reunion dinner.
