Semper Fi Fund Receives Generous Donation from The Parsons Foundation

The Semper Fi Fund would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Bob and Renee Parsons, who recently announced that they would be giving a gift of $1 million from their foundation, The Parsons Foundation. The Semper Fi Fund is forever grateful for your generous dedication to our critical mission, and your financial and emotional support for our nation's wounded and critically ill service members and their families.

Bob and Renee ParsonsBob Parsons is the Executive Chairman and Founder of GoDaddy.com, the world's No. 1 provider of domain names, Web hosting, and new SSL Certificates. Bob is also the CEO and Founder of Go AZ Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale.

Bob joined the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and received the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and a Purple Heart Medal for his service. Upon his return, Bob enrolled in the University of Baltimore where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, and became a Certified Public Accountant.

In 1984, Bob used his self-taught computer programming skills and $15,000 in savings to start Parsons Technology out of his basement. In 1994, he sold the software company for $64 million.

In 1997, Bob started Jomax Technologies, using funds from the sale of Parsons Technology. He renamed the company "Go Daddy" in 1999. Today, Go Daddy serves more than 10.5 million customers worldwide and employs over 3,000 people.

In 2012, Bob and his wife Renee created The Parsons Foundation with the mission of inspiring hope by providing critical funding at critical times to communities striving to make a difference. The Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS in Phoenix was immediately given a $5 million donation. Bob also donated $1 million to his alma mater to establish the University of Baltimore's "Bob 'Go Daddy' Parsons' Professorship of Digital Communication, Commerce, and Culture."

From Bob's military accomplishments to his business success, he is an inspiration to us all. Through his open heart, he has supported many other people and organizations, whether it be financial support from his foundation or personal encouragement from his own success.
