SAN DIEGO – A team of cyclists finished a 430-mile journey in San Diego that raised money to help injured soldiers and their families get back on their feet.
The Ride for Semper Fi team hand delivered a $320,000 check to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund on Saturday. The cyclists-turned-philanthropists proudly exceeded their $300,000 goal, team member Jessica Newell said.
The group of 70 cyclists started their ride in Scottsdale, Ariz. on October 12 and presented the check during their closing ceremony at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.
