Metrowest Marine Corps League Detachment 1037 in Natick donated $10,000 to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
Five members of the detachment traveled to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., recently to present a check that will be used to support this fund.
Because of the Semper Fi Fund, which was created by Marine wives, more than $52 million has been donated to injured Marines and their families.
Detachment members making the trip to Quantico, from left to right are Tom Potenza, Northbridge; Warren Griffin, Holliston; John “Mac” McEntegart, Framingham; Jim Hastings, Bellingham; and Ed Jolley, Framingham.
Attending from the Semper Fi Fund staff, were Angie McCrary and Lisa Killeen and the commanding officer of the Marine Wounded Warrior Regiment, Col. Jay Krail.
Not in attendance were the many golfers who play the the League’s annual golf tournament, and with their generosity helped make this donation possible.
