When he tees off at this year’s Champions Tour next week, pro golfer Andrew Magee will be sporting a new look on the links: head-to-toe support for the Semper Fi Fund. By wearing our logo on his gear, Magee makes more than a fashion statement: he raises critical awareness for the Semper Fi Fund, and the vital services we provide.
Magee was introduced to Semper Fi Fund through Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy.com, a Marine Corps veteran, and an ardent supporter of the organization. When Magee learned of the critical work we were doing providing financial assistance to injured veterans and their families, he was eager to help.
So this year, thanks to a generous sponsorship funded by the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, the golfer will don the Semper Fi Fund logo on his hat, shirt and bag for all PGA Champions Tour events, increasing our visibility and introducing our mission to a new audience.
In addition to the support Magee will provide on the fairway, the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation has agreed to match the pro golfer’s total 2013 Champions Tour earnings with an equal donation to Semper Fi Fund. Parsons, through GoDaddy.com and the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, has previously partnered with celebrity NASCAR drivers Danica Patrick and Mark Martin to increase visibility and donations for the Semper Fi Fund.
The Semper Fi Fund can’t thank Bob and Renee Parsons enough for their continued support. Bob continues to be an exceptional advocate for the Semper Fi Fund and our veterans in need, both through the incredible patronage of the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation and his personal outreach to Mr. Magee and others. His efforts exemplify the strength of support for our wounded warriors, among fellow veterans and within the community at large.
Golfer Andrew McGee was at the 3M Championship where “The weather was mild, general admission was free for the fifth consecutive year and Minnesota golf fans turned out in droves to watch this year’s tournament and to see the players compete in the Greats of Golf. Saturday’s gallery was the largest the 3M Championship has had in its 21-year run.”
During the recent 3M Championship in TPC Twin Cities, Blaine, MN, Magee shared the Semper Fi Fund’s mission with Eric Zimmerman – Marines, ’79-’85 and current CEO of Fuzzy’s Vodka. Welcome, Eric Zimmerman, to the Semper Fi Fund Family…serving those who preserve our freedom!
Camp Lejeune, NC – Golf Pro Andrew Magee continues on the 2013 Champions Tour spreading the word about the Semper Fi Fund mission and playing some fantastic golf. His most recent stop on October 15th brought him to Camp Lejeune, NC home to the Paradise Point Golf Course.
