Team Semper Fi Takes on Cowboy Challenge

On Saturday, September 29th, ten service members from Team Semper Fi competed in a "Cowboy Challenge" in Culpeper, VA at J Bar C Ranch. The ranch managers, Jim and Cassie McDonough, along with the help of a few real cowboys, trained these service members in various challenges throughout the week: barrel racing, team penning, pole bending, and calf branding.

The atmosphere was energetic when retired Marine Jeremy Willis began the festivities by thanking the sponsors of the event: Tencate, The Marine Corps Association and Foundation, Acredale Saddlery, Farm Credit, John Deere, and Southern States. Following this introduction, belt buckles were handed out to the winning teams, and the Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment, Col. Willard Buhl, spoke to the heroism and determination of our nation's injured and critically ill service men and women in attendance and around the country.
