Semper Fi Fund at Boston Marathon 2019

The Semper Fi Fund is selected, once again, as a charity partner for the world's oldest annual marathon.

The Boston Marathon isn’t only the world’s oldest, but is regarded as one of the world’s most challenging races. Despite the oftentimes formidable weather conditions for the April 2018 race, Semper Fi Fund's Community Athletes and veterans of Team Semper Fi faced the challenge with determination and inspired us all! We look forward to bringing an even larger presence to Boston Marathon 2019, one of the world's most prestigious road racing events.

"Being a Semper Fi Fund Community Athlete gives me a sense of purpose when I think about the magnitude of the challenges wounded veterans and their families face on a daily basis."

Need More Inspiration?

Staff Sgt. Jose: After an encounter with an IED during a patrol of Afghanistan in 2011 left him with an amputated left leg and injured right calf, Jose started working out. Six years later, Jose inspired millions by completing the Boston Marathon while holding the inspirational American flag his patrol unit signed and sent to the hospital during his recovery.
