Land of the Free Veterans Day Golf Classic Supports Semper Fi Fund Injured Service Members

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – The Land of the Free Foundation will once again host their annual Veterans Day Golf Classic on Friday, Nov. 11 at Industry Hills Golf Club at the Pacific Palms Hotel and Conference Center. The goal of this year’s golf classic is to raise more than $1 million for those who serve our country. The Semper Fi Fund is honored to be one of several veteran charities supported by this patriotic event.

There will be fifty foursomes participating in the Land of the Free Foundation Veterans Day Golf Classic. The event will feature breakfast, lunch catered by In-n-Out Burger, dinner, cocktails, an awards reception, and tee prizes.

Several service members who have benefited from the Semper Fi Fund will be attending and golfing. One of the Semper Fi Fund’s recipient and an American hero, Marine veteran Corporal Ronny Porta will share his story during the evening dinner. Ronny was injured in 2007 when his Humvee hit a roadside IED, severely burning his body and face and causing the amputation of his right arm. His strength and positive spirit is an inspiration to everyone.

The event will conclude with a keynote address from this year's guest speaker, Retired Major General Geoffrey C. Lambert of the United States Army.
