4th Annual Major McClung Memorial Run Raises Funds for Injured Servicemembers and Their Families

NAS Whidbey Island, WA – The Major McClung Memorial Run is a race dedicated to Major Megan Malia Leilani McClung (April 14, 1972–December 6, 2006). She was the first female United States Marine Corps officer killed in combat during the Iraq War, while serving as a public affairs officer in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Major McClung’s parents, Mike and Re McClung, began this event in order to have a race to remember their fallen daughter and to raise money to donate to the Semper Fi Fund.
