Semper Fi Fund is thrilled to announce that The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation has made a $1 million donation to help provide critical financial support for injured and critically ill service members in their time of need. This marks the second year in a row that The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation has pledged its support, to which it has donated a collective $2.8 million. These funds will assist service members in all branches of the military, through Semper Fi Fund and its program America’s Fund.

The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation donated $1 million to the Washington-based Semper Fi Fund.
The fund provides financial support for injured and critically ill military service members. This latest gift brings the Parsons Foundation’s total donation to the military support charity to $2.8 million over the past two years.
Bob Parson, founder of Scottsdale-based GoDaddy, is a Marine Corps veteran. The Semper Fi gift marks the second $1 million donation in recent weeks. The Parsons gifted a million bucks to the University of Baltimore to establish the Bob Parsons Veteran Center.
“We are so grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from Bob and Renee Parsons, whose generosity is only matched by the size of their hearts,” said Karen Guenther, CEO of Semper Fi Fund. “Their donation will touch the lives of countless service members and their families, and on their behalf, we thank Bob and Renee from the bottom of our hearts.”
The Parsons Foundation also gifted $75,000 each to Boys & Girls Clubs of Scottsdale and Free Arts of Arizona.
In addition to doling out charitable donations, the GoDaddy founder has been shelling out some hefty amounts for real estate properties around the Phoenix area. Parsons paid $38 million for the Centerpoint development on Mill Avenue in Tempe late last month. Parsons also bought the ultra-exclusive Golf Club of Scottsdale.

The Onslow Oktoberfest, founded in 2008, is a community effort to raise funds for the Onslow Community Outreach Center. Their homeless shelter provides services for approximately 300 individuals and 52 veterans a year. They also operate the local community clinic, soup kitchen and host a holiday program that assists individuals and families in need during the Christmas season. At this year’s Oktoberfest there will be live entertainment, 5k run, incredible children’s area, various contests and mouthwatering German food.
The goal of the Veterans Information Area is to create an spot at Oktoberfest which specifically benefits Jacksonville Veterans and Active Duty Military men and women to provide them with a wealth of information centralized in one area.

Charlotte, NC - Student of DECA will be holding a community softball tournament in which 10 teams of 10-20 players will play against each other and compete to become the champions. Each team will pay $200 to register and donations to the Semper Fi Fund will be accepted at the event, and all proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund.

LEXINGTON, VA - VMI cadets Keith MacDonald, Ryan Long, Schafer Wymond, and Travis Via got one last practice in Friday before they embark on a "modest" 102 mile bike ride.
"It's really mental," said Wymond. "You gotta be ready for it."
They're riding in the Martin's Tour of Richmond Saturday and have put many hours and miles on their bikes to prepare. But they say what they've done is small compared to what our armed forces do daily.
That's why they're riding for them -- raising money for a charity called the Semper Fi Fund, which provides financial help to soldiers who return home with physical or mental disabilities, or in dire financial straits.
"We liked Semper Fi because 96 percent of their donations go directly to assisting these veterans," said Long, who organized the team. Read the rest of this entry »

A team of cyclists that includes several Marines, including those injured in combat, and families of fallen soldiers will pedal 430 miles in 4 days through Arizona’s mountain ranges to support military service people and their families.
“The Ride 430 Challenge” begins Oct. 9, leaving from DNA Cycles in Scottsdale. It ends Oct. 12 at the Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing Aviation Museum in Mesa.
In 2012, “The Ride 430 Challenge” raised $520,000.
For the event’s sixth year, the cycling team will travel through Arizona towns, including Cave Creek, Wickenburg, Prescott, Payson and Mesa. New this year will be “fan zones” located just outside select towns along the Yarnell Mountain climb during day two of the ride. Family, friends and local residents can line up in these fan zones to support and cheer on the team as they cycle through. Read the rest of this entry »
