Cooper River Bridge Run Post-Race Celebration

Charleston, SC – The Semper Fi Fund is proud to announce that we have joined the Cooper River Bridge Run (CRBR) as 1 of 15 charity partners in 2013. Runners now have the opportunity to run for the Fund and raise support for our injured and critically ill service members while participating in the CRBR in 2013!

Join us to celebrate the accomplishment of the Semper Fi Fund charity runners, have a meet-and-greet opportunity with Team Semper Fi, and help us raise funds through our fantastic live and silent auction. If you would like to attend please RSVP by email.

4th Annual Boca Royale Charity Golf Tournament

Boca Royale, FL – The residents of Boca Royale Golf and Country Club will be hosting their annual golf tournament to benefit the Semper Fi Fund.

The event will include a tennis clinic, a silent auction through the day and live auction during dinner, raffle prizes, a fantastic round of golf on the beautiful Boca Royale Golf course and dinner. The guest of honor for this wonderful event will be Marine Corps Commandant, Gen James F. Amos.

The Boca Royale Semper Fi Fund Charity Fundraiser was established in 2010 by a group of Boca Royale Golf and Country Club residents after a visit to Washington, DC where they were the guests of the Commandant of the Marine Corps. During the Commandant's event they were introduced to Ms. Karen Guenther, the founder and CEO of the Semper Fi Fund. The Boca Royale Semper Fi Fund Charity Fundraiser is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, hence all contributions are tax deductible.

2013 Jacksonville-Onslow Business Expo

Jacksonville, NC – 2013 Jacksonville-Onslow Business Expo hosted by the Jacksonville-Onslow Chamber of Commerce will take place Thursday, March 21, 2013.

"Be visible. Be viable." Businesses from the Onslow County area can participate for an opportunity to connect with the citizens of the area as well as other vendors, agencies, and businesses. Break-out sessions and speakers will be available, as well as a Virtual Trade Show following the expo, and vendor listings will be posted in the Jacksonville Daily News and the Chamber Website.

Pre-expo marketing seminars presented by the Small Business Center of Coastal Carolina Community College will be available to participants, including "Social Media Marketing for Expos" on Wednesday February 20, 2013 from 9am-noon, and "Guerrilla Marketing for Expos" on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 9am to noon.

CCC4 Vets ( Cross Country Cyclist 4 Vets)

Anacortes, WA to Virginia Beach, VA – Team CCC4Vets will bike across the United States in order raise funds and awareness for wounded Marines and Corpsman supported by the Semper Fi Fund. There are two phases:

Phase 1: Between Sept. 1, 2012 and July 31 2013, team CCC4Vets will focus on training and preparation

Phase 2: Between Aug. 1 and Oct. 14 2013, team CCC4Vets will cycle across the United States in order to raise funds and awareness for wounded Marines, Navy Corpsmen and other service members who were wounded while serving with Marine units supported by the Semper Fi Fund

7th Annual Leatherneck 5k Run/Walk

NAS Patuxent River, MD – The 7th Annual Leatherneck 5K Run/Walk will take place May 11 along the beautiful Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay inside the gates of NAS Patuxent River.

You can run or walk the 5K. You do not need a valid Military ID or a Department of Defense Sticker to get onto the base.

Registration is now open for this event on or if you are on NAS Patuxent River, MD stop by the Marine Aviation Detachment Headquarters. You will also be able to register the day of the race. All runners will receive a commemorative T-shirt and medals.

Donations from the race will be given to the Semper Fi Fund.

We are always excited to have others share with us in the successes of our servicemen and women as they travel along their very difficult roads to recovery. The Semper Fi Fund provides long-term assistance for life-long needs so that none of our injured or critically ill service members, like the five amazing men mentioned below, will ever be alone or forgotten.

Early Easter morning in 2009, about 125 miles north of Baghdad, U.S. Army Sgt. Brendan Marrocco was riding in an armored vehicle that tripped a roadside explosive device.

Jacksonville Marine Corps 1/2 Marathon & Freedom 5k

Jacksonville, FL – The 10th Annual Jacksonville Marine Corps Half Marathon and Freedom 5K will be held in Jacksonville, Florida on October 5, 2013. The city of Jacksonville has been voted one of the top ten running cities in the nation by Runner's World magazine. Volunteers from the Marine Corps community with support from the corporate and civic community will again present this prestigious event. Following in the traditions set by the internationally respected Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., Jacksonville is the home to the annual Jacksonville Marine Corps Half Marathon and Freedom 5K.

The Semper Fi Fund is one of two main beneficiaries of the event, alongside the USO. The race registration and course include: medals to all finishers, souvenir chip timing, post-race celebration, t-shirts to all entrants, discounted hotel rates, wheelchair and prosthetic athlete awards, age group awards, and prize purses.

Author Bill Driscoll to speak at the Servant Leadership Conference

San Diego, CA – Author and great friend of the Semper Fi Fund, Bill Driscoll, will be speaking on the last day of the Servant Leadership Institute conference. The conference runs 5th-7th of February. In their first year the Run for the Fund saw almost 200 runners and walkers, over 20 sponsors, and raised over $8,500 for the Semper Fi Fund! The second annual run saw over 300 runners and walkers and raised over $10,000! **New this year: a 1/2 Marathon**

Last year more than 300 runners and sponsors raised more than $10,000 for our injured service members and their families! Please join them again this year as they continue their much needed support!
