Interact’s Semper Fi & America’s “FUN”D Run

Interlachen, FL - Interact’s Semper Fi & America’s “FUN”D Run is a 5K run through the community of Interlachen, Florida, on the day of their Christmas Celebration. This event is a community project sponsored by the Interlachen High School Interact Club. The funds raised will be donated to the Semper Fi Fund and America's Fund to help provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

Springfield, IL – The JL Memorial 8K Challenge Run will honor the life of John Lazell who served in the USMC as a Corporal in Vietnam. He was an avid runner, finishing 49 races throughout the United States with the Marine Corps Marathon being his favorite. Additionally, he was the Commander for the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 159. This event will honor all service members. Read the rest of this entry »

So says Marine Corporal Matthew B — the first blinded amputee in history to re-enlist in the Corps.

This November, the Semper Fi Fund rounds out its 10th anniversary year with the 10 for 10 Challenge – a matching campaign with the potential to raise $10 million for wounded, critically ill and injured veterans. The challenge, issued by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, with support from GoDaddy, is one of the largest matching campaigns in the history of veteran nonprofits. Corporal Cody S., USA (Ret.)

“I want people to know that we are at war, and we still have guys getting injured all the time,” said Nancy, the mother of Corporal Cody S. “The day after Cody was injured, I did an interview—I wanted people to know that this is happening. I don't think people are really aware. All these guys need support.”

Born and raised in North Carolina, Cody was planning on being a missionary before he enlisted in the Army.

For the second year in a row, GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons is doubling up his year-end matching-gift push to raise money for wounded veterans through the Semper Fi Fund.
