Five ways your gift will help wounded veterans:

1. Send A Message of Hope

A $50 donation will send a Holiday Ornament and a message of hope that a service member is remembered this holiday season.

Ornament

Help us send hope in the form of a Semper Fi Fund Holiday Ornament for thousands of our wounded, critically ill and injured service members. Donate Now and your gift will be doubled by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, up to $10 Million.

Live in the Washington Capital Region? Join us November 20th for our annual Holiday Ornament Packing Party! We’ll celebrate the season while packing the ornaments for shipping to our injured veterans. Bring your holiday spirit and wear Semper Fi Fund red! Details HERE.

2. Transition Assistance Through Apprenticeship

A $300 donation can help a veteran transition successfully back into the community and start a new life through our Apprenticeship Program.

Corporal Lisa Forcia deployed to Iraq in 2003 and shared that she “saw some pretty devastating things that left long-lasting scars.” PTSD profoundly affected her personal and professional relationships.  Training her own service dog has opened all sorts of doors for Lisa. She’s currently working on a business plan and hopes to attend a three-phase intensive training program with a world class trainer with the K-9 Academy in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Learn more about Lisa’s plans to run a service dog training practice HERE.

Help us empower transition for even more veterans like Lisa.  Donate Now and your gift will be doubled by The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, up to $10 Million.

3. Technology for Those with TBI and PTSD

A $750 donation provides technology to assist service members suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and PTSD.

Sergeant Nora Mund deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 as a squad and team leader in the Female Engagement Team (FET) assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines and 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines. An explosion left her with back and neck injuries as well as a Traumatic Brain Injury.  After a year of occupational therapy to improve her memory and physical therapy for her back and neck, Nora is a full-time student at the University of Colorado, where she is working to get her Bachelor’s degree in psychology. Learn more about Nora’s recovery and see how a technology grant from Semper Fi Fund is helping her organize medical appointments, daily activities and improve her memory HERE.

Help more Veterans with TBI and PTSD. Donate Now and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, with support from GoDaddy, will Double Down for Veterans by matching every donation until December 31st, up to $10 Million.

4. Recovery and Growth Through Reunions

A $1,600 donation for Unit reunions will offer camaraderie, recovery and growth for veterans.

Why Give- Unit ReunionsNG2

Corporal Noel Guerrero was injured while deployed to Afghanistan on September 19, 2008, while serving with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines. He was hit by an IED and suffered lacerations, a messed-up knee and a traumatic brain injury. Before their deployment was complete, 2/7 lost 20 men and saw 30 more members become amputees. Another 130 suffered a variety of wounds.  Noel recently joined Semper Fi Fund in planning a reunion of the unit as his way of addressing the high rate of suicides among post-9/11 veterans, including members of 2/7. Together these warriors strengthened their bond of brotherhood, remembered those who were lost, shared their lives and planned for future gatherings. One attendee described his experience as “the most healing and restorative life-changing event that a veteran can experience.”

Help more veterans attend a life-changing reunion. Donate Now and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, with support from GoDaddy, will Double Down for Veterans by matching every donation until December 31st, up to $10 Million.

5. Independence and Stability with Service Dogs

A $5,000 donation for Service dogs provides freedom and stability to wounded service members – allowing them and their families to live fulfilling lives.

After 22 years on active duty, 18 years as a Navy Seal, 18 deployments and an encounter with a grenade, Jake was medically retired with traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression and post-concussion migraines.  Jake says that working with Lundy, a golden retriever, has improved his speech and pain levels.  These days, in addition to focusing on his own recovery, Jake spends time working with service dogs for other veterans.  See why Jake says that working with dogs is the one thing he can point to that was the big turning point in his recovery HERE

Provide service dogs for more veterans like Jake. Donate Now and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, with support from GoDaddy, will Double Down for Veterans by matching every donation until December 31st, up to $10 Million.
