Boston Survivors and Semper Fi Fund Vets Celebrate Camaraderie at Three Day Boston Marathon Event April 15 – 17, 2017
Team Semper Fi joins 4.15 Strong in therapeutic recovery in the Boston Marathon
Who: Five service members of Semper Fi Fund’s Team Semper Fi Program and 14 Boston Survivors of 4.15 Strong accept the challenge of Boston’s iconic and oldest marathon.
WHAT: Semper Fi Fund’s athletes team up with 4.15 Strong survivors for the second year to run the Boston Marathon. These incredible, inspiring athletes will build more than just skills at this unforgettable event — they’ll also leave with camaraderie, confidence and life-long bonds with Boston survivors.

5:00 pm Semper Fi Fund, Boston survivors, and Community Athletes/fundraisers pre-marathon celebration dinner at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse
04/16 — 11:00 Semper Fi Fund, Boston survivors and Community Athletes/fundraisers have Easter lunch with Hopkinton WWII veterans at TJ’S Fine Foods and Spirits
12:15 – 12:30 Group pictures at “Yes You Can” statue and Boston Marathon start line
4:30 pm Semper Fi Fund athletes and Boston survivors attend pre-marathon pasta dinner hosted by Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse and Regan Communications
04/17 — Semper Fi Fund’s athletes, Boston survivors and Community Athletes/fundraisers run the Boston marathon in their pursuit of “Recovery Through Sport”

WHY: “Recovery Through Sport” has proven to be an ideal outlet for injured service members to hone both physical agility and mental focus, skills that are critical to navigating their recovery. Learning and practicing alongside fellow wounded service members, they can also trade stories, share strategies for coping with their injuries and forge lasting friendships.
