CAMP PENDLETON – Billy Osterman, 16, raised $3,000 in a cross country bicycle ride to benefit the Semper Fi Fund, a nonprofit supporting injured Marines and their families.

The former Fallbrook High School varsity Lacrosse player rode 2,500 miles over 45 days from Tybee Island, Georgia to the Santa Monica Pier, arriving back today as part of the "American Challenge" bike tour.

Billy lived at Camp Pendleton for two years until June 2011, while his father, Brig. Gen. Jody Osterman served as assistant division commander of the 1st Marine Division.
