The Semper Fi Fund celebrates the launch of the Jinx McCain Warrior Riding Program in opening ceremony on Camp Pendleton!

June 21st, 2011

Camp Pendleton, CA - On June 22, 2011 the Semper Fi Fund (SFF) will celebrate the launch of the new Jinx McCain Warrior Riding Program on Camp Pendleton with a BBQ and presentation. The Jinx McCain Warrior Riding Program is a new component of the Semper Fi Fund's (SFF) Team Semper Fi (TSF). The riding program will provide horsemanship clinics to wounded service members and their families.

The program is being dedicated in memory of Col Jinx McCain, USMC. Jinx was a 4-time Purple Heart recipient from Iwo Jima, Korea, and Vietnam. While stationed at Camp Pendleton in the 1960's Jinx would host trail rides for the amputees from Vietnam. His daughter still works at the Camp Pendleton stables and carries on his legacy. We are honored to host this event to recognize Jinx McCain's service to our country and dedication for helping our nation's wounded. The USMC Mounted Color Guard from Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow, California will be on hand for the ceremony.
