The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation donated $1 million to the Washington-based Semper Fi Fund.
The fund provides financial support for injured and critically ill military service members. This latest gift brings the Parsons Foundation’s total donation to the military support charity to $2.8 million over the past two years.
Bob Parson, founder of Scottsdale-based GoDaddy, is a Marine Corps veteran. The Semper Fi gift marks the second $1 million donation in recent weeks. The Parsons gifted a million bucks to the University of Baltimore to establish the Bob Parsons Veteran Center.
“We are so grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from Bob and Renee Parsons, whose generosity is only matched by the size of their hearts,” said Karen Guenther, CEO of Semper Fi Fund. “Their donation will touch the lives of countless service members and their families, and on their behalf, we thank Bob and Renee from the bottom of our hearts.”
The Parsons Foundation also gifted $75,000 each to Boys & Girls Clubs of Scottsdale and Free Arts of Arizona.
In addition to doling out charitable donations, the GoDaddy founder has been shelling out some hefty amounts for real estate properties around the Phoenix area. Parsons paid $38 million for the Centerpoint development on Mill Avenue in Tempe late last month. Parsons also bought the ultra-exclusive Golf Club of Scottsdale.
