WDGT3 Georgia: 71 Year Old travels 100 days – 3000 miles across the US for Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund

In an effort to raise money for Injured Marine's Semper Fi Fund- 71 year old Rick Hermelin's has began a 100-day journey across the US.

71-year-old Rick Hermlin's Join the Marine Corps as an aviation communication tech in 1959. Over the course of 35 years from August 1976 to June 2011, he has completed 1000 Marathons, 100 half-marathons, as well as 100 10K runs. On March 23 2012 he began his first 3000 Mile Journey coast to coast. Hermelin's journey isn't all self-gain and enjoyment, he's traveling via an Eliptigo to raise money for the Injured Marine's Semper Fi Fund. His Goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of his journey.


Families throughout the country will host Hermlin on his 100-day journey. He happens to be passing through Northern Coffee County to Pridgeon Georgia, where Fire Chief Steve Carver has made arrangements for his stay at the County Fire Department.
