Fontana, CA – The Fontana Police Department softball team has challenged the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department - Rancho Cucamonga Station to a softball game to benefit the Semper Fi Fund. Proceeds from ticket sales and food sales will go to the charity. This law enforcement family event will take place at Coyote Canyon Park 5065 Coyote Canyon Rd., Fontana, CA on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. The first pitch will be at 7:30pm. The city of Fallujah will long be associated with some of the worst violence and brutality of the Iraq War. Team Semper Fi member and 2014 Team USA Sled Hockey Gold Medalist Josh Sweeney, who scored the winning goal against Russia, is received the first ever Pat Tillman Award for Service presented by ESPN and the Pat Tillman Foundation at the 2014 ESPY Awards on July 16th at 9pm ET (http://espn.go.com/espys/2014/). Long Island, NY - Shootout For Soldiers is a 24 hour lacrosse game benefiting wounded American soldiers. Participants will play during a particular time slot for either of the two teams – Stars or Stripes – with fellow participants roughly their same age and skill. This is a dangerous time to be on the rain-swollen Mississippi River, especially for those with little experience on the water.
