**Here are two options to run in support of the Semper Fi Fund**
1) $40 until 2/15/2013 or $45 until sell out (38,500)
– Go to Cooper River Bridge Run to register for the race. You have two options for fundraising either through Active or Crowdrise.
– Active: a fundraising page will automatically be created for you.
– Crowdrise: go to Semper Fi Fund Team on CrowdRise and click the "I'm already registered but want to fundraise" text to create your fundraising page.

2) $150 Charity Bib with Semper Fi Fund logo
– Go to Semper Fi Fund Team and click Charity Registration to register for a charity bib until they sell out.
– It's a $150 fundraising minimum and at the end of the registration process, you will guarantee your minimum with a credit card and create a fundraising page.

Lance Corporal Rudolfo Moreno

Lance Corporal Rudolfo Moreno was injured in August of 2011 while on patrol with 1st Battalion 6th Marines in support of OEF in Helmond Province, Afghanistan. Rudolfo was the Gunner on an MATV when it hit an improvised explosive device. He suffered numerous injuries, to include a bilateral ankle and heal fracture, a right femur fracture, and a traumatic brain injury. Since the injury, Rudolfo has endured eleven surgeries (with more pending) and countless hours of both occupational and physical therapy. Read the rest of this entry »

General Al Gray – the 29th Commandant of the Marine Corps – served in that billet from 1987 until his retirement in 1991. Through the years he became an inspiring figure for Marines of all ranks, though not much is known of his early days as an enlisted Marine and young officer. In this first of two volumes, Scott Laidig gives a detailed account of Al Gray as a young sergeant in the Amphibious Reconnaissance Platoon through his tour as the Commanding Officer of a Special Intelligence unit in Vietnam in late 1967. USA Today: Ailing veterans turn to charities in record numbers

Susan Rocco starts authorizing help on a litany of pleas from wounded Iraq and Afghanistan veterans at 7 a.m. in her home north of Quantico, Va.

One is a young Marine veteran living in a shelter who needs clothing and electricity turned on so he can go back home; another is a Marine missing a leg who visits his parents, but needs a ramp built to get into their house; and a third is hospitalized for attempted suicide and his wife needs travel money to visit him.

Rocco is eastern-region case director for the military charity Semper Fi Fund. As the hours unwind through the day, she authorizes 34 grants worth $37,000 to help dozens of current and former troops in need.

Freedom Autosport Ready To Show Off The Mazda MX-5 In Austin

Freedom Autosport is looking forward to introducing a new group of fans to their Mazda MX-5s this weekend, when GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge has their inaugural event at Circuit of the Americas.

Rhett O'Doski and Andrew Carbonell had a strong start to the season, finishing sixth at Daytona, and they will be hoping for an even better result at Austin in the No. 26 Mazda MX-5. Derek Whitis and Tom Long, who co-drive the No. 25 Mazda MX-5, were 13th at Daytona.

"Going to a new track is always a fun challenge, and this is a great chance to not only show off what a great car the Mazda MX-5 is, but to promote the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund," says O'Doski. "We had missed text messages and phone calls from both my parents – on my phone and my husband's phone – so we knew something was wrong," Jenifer Keller said this week from her home in the Habersham neighborhood.

Community Athlete: Bill Greineisen at Double Iron Triathlon

Double Iron Triathlon, Tampa, FL – Bill has been a consistent participant in the hardcore races. He takes on the multiple aspects of physicality in races such as the Ironmans! This year he is planning on competing in the Lavaman Waikaloa in April, the Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas in May, the Ironman 70.3 Hawaii in June, Ford Ironman Coeur d'Alene also in June, Lavaman Keauhou in August, and the IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in October! He does these races with the mindset to help our mission of serving those who preserve our freedom.
