Wild Core presents The Wildman Mud Run. An intense all out brush with insanity on 420 acres of extreme terrain waiting to test your training to the core. We are talking bogs, ponds, rivers and natural rock cliffs. The course features obstacles and challenges that you have never seen before. Are you strong enough to handle it? Take on the Wildman and never look back! Let your instincts take over and let the world know you came to win! Are you prepared to conquer the Wild Core Wildman? Prove it!

The Wildman will have three elite heats for those hardened athletes looking to crush the competition and claim top dog. These heats are timed, because bragging rights and personal bests are facts that need documentation to be true. The race is offered in two formats:

  • Elite 5K-10K ($110)
  • Open 5K-10K ($80)

Century of Heroes Milwaukee WI eventCentury of Heroes is being hosted by George and Heidi Jozwiak.  Our evening will consist of a social hour, dinner, comedy show, USMC Color Guard, live dinner music, Scottish Highlanders bagpipe band, Comedy Sportz, keynote speaker, raffle and a silent auction.

42nd Annual Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival

Sneads Ferry Shrimp FestivalThe Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival celebrates it’s 42nd year on August 11-12. A tradition that began as a way to honor the local fishing community has grown over the years, drawing crowds of more than 10,000 people.

Over the years, the Sneads Ferry Community Council has donated proceeds from the festival to help the community. Through all of the changes, the Shrimp Festival has endured it has continued to grow. Currently the two day festival includes a parade, music, shrimp heading contest, fireworks, beer and wine tent, car show, military exhibits, arts & crafts, lots of food and lots of shrimp!

It’s continued success is a direct result of the dedication and determination of the citizens of Sneads Ferry and folks like you who come to celebrate not only your love of shrimp, but the love of a community that cherishes it’s past, it’s present and it’s determination to persevere in the future.

Dawg Daze Grunt and Growl Hump-a-thonThe Dawg Daze Grunt & Growl Hump-A-Thon on Wednesday, August 7th will be a 4 to 5 mile hike along the improved hiking trail that begins at Des Moines Beach Park in Des Moines, Washington.

The cost per participant is only $29 for this hump-a-thon benefitting the Marine Semper Fi Fund and will include a free event Tee-shirt to the first 25 people who register.

5 Mile Hike in Puyallup, Washington for the Semper Fi Fund

Please join together with the National American Self-Defense Association  for a five mile hike to support the Semper Fi Fund.  The 5 mile hike on Saturday, August 31st will form and begin at 10 AM outside of the Puyallup Eagles Club which is right across the rail road tracks from the Puyallup branch of the First Security Bank of Washington.

There isn't any participation fee for this hike like we had on the first one, however we will have a few event Tee-shirts on hand that can be purchased on a first come first served basis until we run out.

As the dust from the blast began to settle, Raymond Mackey knew his life had changed forever.

"We were doing a company-sized patrol near Marjah, Afghanistan – a sweep for improvised explosive devices," said the 50-year-old retired Marine sergeant. "I was with the rear element with a couple Marines when a Marine fell into a ditch. I reached down to help him up right as the explosive was detonated."

It was Dec. 23, 2009, and the explosive left Mackey with both legs amputated above the knee and wounds to his right arm and abdomen. Read the rest of this entry »
