Lind Family's New Vehicle

Hi,
As promised attached you will find a picture of the family truck Davey purchased with the most generous help of the Semper Fi Fund. We are so happy and blessed to have this vehicle. Please know that my family will enjoy this truck for years to come. Please feel free to post this picture on the Semper Fi Fund website to show what great help you are to families that have endured the tragedy of a wounded warrior. Davey is doing great, his recovery is moving along and we thank you for all the support.
Sincerely,
The Lind Family

Golf Cart presented to Fisher House at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego

Golf Cart presented to Fisher House at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego

IMSFF purchased the Fisher House at Balboa a new golf cart.

This cart will enable our wounded to comfortably go back and forth to their treatments and rehabilitation at Balboa Naval Hospital.
This gift to our wounded and their families was made possible because of the wonderful generosity of our donors.
Thank you!!

10 Donated PDA's at Balboa

Donated PDA's

The PDA's that were donated have already changed the lives of the service members that have received them, and that is apparent as you walk into the classroom and see all the heads down busily inputing new information! And they will continue to improve their quality of life after such a traumatic injury. The devices are assisting with short-term memory, organization, time management, navigational skills, attention, and more. They have given these young men the confidence to keep moving forward during the healing process.

A Million Thanks

From a Marine Corps spouse whose husband is now legally blind in both eyes, loss of hearing, and loss of smell from an RPG explosion in Iraq, 2004. This Marine is now in college, making straight A's. We have been working with this family since November 2004. The IMSFF, Nov 05, again assisted with a grant to help the family with equipment to help make this Marine's life a little easier.

Thank you for helping us, (GySgt XX) is so excited to finally get the Quicklook magnifier. On his daily trolley rides to his classes, he won't have to be so bored during his trips because this item will help him to read. It will be a wonderful change to his daily life in so many ways than you can imagine. He can look at a menu at a restaurant, he can look at cans and boxes in our cupboard on his own, he can look at his money and receipts when he is on the go. The big CCTV magnifier is great that we have at home for him to read, but 60 lbs too heavy to get all the places the Quicklook can.......Thank You for helping to make a wonderful difference to his life. Today was a great day, first I spoke to you and if that wasn't wonderful enough then I got a call from Steve Walker at the Severely injured Marine support program informing me that Nick was awarded the Sliver Star. XX does not know about it and It will be a huge surprise to him when it is presented to him at the Marine Corps ball where he is also the guest speaker for the Twentynine Palms Marine base. Life was just wonderful today!
Thanks for making a difference in all our lives.

Thank You from a Marine's Sister

Hello,
My name is Autumn. My brother is LCPL P.M. and he is a Marine that was injured in Iraq. P was injured on November 9 of this year and was brought to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda a few days later. My family and I came to Maryland from Texas very scared and confused about the future of P. P. has lost both of his legs, but his is (thank God) alive. He, like other Marines here, is full of this positive energy and life that I was sure he wouldn't have after this loss. But his is truly an amazing person. I am not writing you to ask for help. In fact, the Injured Marine Simper Fi Fund has already helped my family.
This fund, and the people that support it, have allowed my family and I to remain with my brother when we would not have been able to afford it otherwise. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you. Your kindness and generosity has been a true blessing to my family in a time of need and it is something that I will never forget. Bless you and your continued support to all the families of injured Marines.
Sincerely,
Autumn

Lance Corporal David Leddy

To all of those involved in the Semper Fi Fund,
My name is Debbie Leddy, mother of Lance Corporal David R. Leddy. I just want to thank all of you for making the generous grants possible for my family. I have been able to sit at David’s bedside for two months and help him make a wonderful recovery. This would not have been possible without your help. David told me that he would not have been able to handle it without me. He almost died on his 20th birthday, October 15th and I know his will to live would not have been the same if I wasn’t there.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart,
Debbie Leddy

This note was sent to Steve from GiGi, Corporal Lyon's mother

I am thankful for the Semper Fi Fund. I may have lost my house if not for them. I will send a thank you to the address on your letter. Please make sure all the donors understand how much it means to me to have been able to be with Kenny throughout all this and not to have had to come back home to work before he was ready to be able to help himself. I am amazed at how many soldiers are alone at Walter Reed because their parents or wives had to go back to work. I am grateful that because of the Semper Fi Fund and all you volunteers, I did not have to wrestle with that decision.
