Marine Corps Golf – TaylorMade

Marine Corps Golf
TaylorMade Adidas Golf

Team Rensi Motorsports, Leatherneck.com and Performance Promotions Group have teamed up with TaylorMade Adidas Golf to raise money for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Through this partnership, a unique website Golf Shop, hosted by Leatherneck.com, offers active duty, reserve, former and retired Marines and their family’s TaylorMade and Adidas Golf merchandise decorated with the United States Marine Corps “Eagle, Globe & Anchor” logo and “Marines” name.

“We are excited to be a part of this ‘very special’ program” stated Tom Schrepferman, National Sales Manager, Corporate Sales from TaylorMade Adidas Golf. “There are many Marines and Marine families living in the San Diego area where we call home. This program allows our company to participate in a program that “thanks” these dedicated men and women and their families for their service to our country.” Team Rensi Motorsports partner Gary Weisbaum was instrumental in bringing all of the parties together on this program. “Our team had the honor of representing the Marine Corps for the last six of their seven years in NASCAR. Everyone at Team Rensi Motorsports continues to support the Marine Corps and their families and this program is another opportunity to help them.”

As a “Thank You” to the Marines and their families, a percentage of the purchase price of all items sold will be donated to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund once a year. Please visit the USMC/TaylorMade Adidas site (at www.marinecorps-tmag.com or www.leatherneck.com) to view available merchandise and help them say “Thank you”.

“Rule Number Two

RULE NUMBER TWO
Dr. Heidi Kraft

Lieutenant Commander Heidi Kraft, formerly a clinical psychologist in the US Navy, was deployed to Iraq in February 2004. Kraft's job was to uncover the wounds of war that a surgeon would never see. She put away thoughts of her children back home, acclimated to the sound of incoming rockets, and learned how to listen to the most traumatic stories a war zone has to offer.

One of the toughest lessons of her deployment was perfectly articulated by the TV show M*A*S*H: "There are two rules of war. Rule number one is that young men die. Rule number two is that doctors can't change rule number one." Some Marines, Kraft realized, and even some of their doctors, would be damaged by war in ways she could not repair. And sometimes, people were repaired in ways she never expected.

RULE NUMBER TWO is a powerful firsthand account of providing comfort amidst the chaos of war, and of what it takes to endure. Command of the Grill—A Salute to Steak

Command of the Grill—A Salute to Steak
Weber-Stephen Products Co.

On May 1, 2006, Weber-Stephen Products Co. released a very special cookbook, Command of the Grill—A Salute to Steak™, which features grilled steak recipes by Active, Reserve, and famous former U.S. Marines. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the nationally distributed 80-page cookbook will go to four charities that directly benefit U.S. Marines wounded or killed in the line of duty and their families.

Many of the recipes for the book were selected from 10 “Command of the Grill” grilling semi-final competitions held at Marine Corps bases across the country, including Camp Pendleton and MCB Quantico, between Oct. 14 and Dec. 16, 2005. To qualify for the semi-finals, Marines submitted an original grilling recipe and explained in 50 words or less why their recipe was the best and why they should win. At the semi-final events, each Marine grilled two New York strip steaks and a panel of judges chose one winner based on creativity of the entry essay, visual appeal, and the taste of their steak.

To purchase this exciting book for only $10, or to get more information about this fundraiser, visit www.commandofthegrill.com. Take pride in knowing that 100% of your donation will benefit our Marines!
