Long Beach, CA – This exciting car show showcases Pre-1974 American Cars, Trucks, and Special Interest Vehicles. Limited to 300 displays, the event will once again take place on the WyoTech Campus in Long Beach, CA.

Event Information:
– There will be plenty of music, food, and raffles. Trophies will be awarded for various categories.
–Gates open at 7:00 am and cars will be parked by 9:00 am. The event will begin at 9:00 am.

War amputees to Boston’s injured: ‘Life’s not over’

Veterans who lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan traveled to Boston to provide information and moral support to those seriously injured in the bombings.

BOSTON – Cameron West used two hands to lift his right leg into the SUV that would take him from Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to Boston's Logan Airport.

The move was the only visible sign, apart from West's prosthetic limb and a barely noticeable limp, that he doesn't have a right leg anymore. West, 27, stands, walks and works pretty much like a full-bodied person. Hope. Inspiration. Support. That's what Marines who lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan provided to amputee victims of the Boston Marathon bombings when they visited BMC April 21. The Marines, members of Semper Fi Fund, a veteran non-profit organization that supports critically injured soldiers, met with five patients who lost limbs.

Service Members Reunite with New Friends in Boston

A group of injured service members from Team Semper Fi returned to Boston this weekend to revisit with the patients injured in the Boston Marathon bombing. Service member Gabe Martinez reunited with his new friends, Celeste and Sydney, and their special friendship is just one of the many reasons the Semper Fi Fund was inspired to create the America's Fund Mentors program: A new program through which our veterans will mentor those who were injured in the Boston Marathon bombing and accompany them through their rehabilitation, providing hope and encouraging success along the way to recovery. CNN – Patriots Day is the third Monday in April marking the anniversary of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. It is also the date for the Boston Marathon every year. It is meant to be a joyful celebration for the city, but yesterday that all changed.

Tragedy struck and lives were changed forever after two bombs exploded near the finish line of the marathon. Instead of celebrating the city, a nation now mourns the loss of three and the injuries of more than 100. BOSTON – A week after the Boston Marathon bombings, the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday returned control of the crime scene to the city, as local businesses and Bostonians tried to return to normalcy.

Mayor Thomas Menino earlier announced a five-point plan to open much of the Back Bay neighborhood a week after two bombs killed three people and injured more than 170 last Monday near the marathon finish line. Authorities had cut off access to street and pedestrian traffic to a large swath of the area near Copley Square after the bombings, citing the needs of the investigation and possible contamination.
