CAMP PENDLETON, Calif., April 13, 2012 – The Semper Fi Fund has been named the recipient of a $30,000 grant from Wells Fargo as part of the bank’s 160th Anniversary. The donation will support the nonprofit’s mission to assist injured and critically ill service members and their families. On Friday, April 20th, at 1 p.m. Wells Fargo’s North County Regional President Brian Lee will present the $30,000 grant to Semper Fi Fund’s Co-Founder Wendy Lethin in addition to staff and local service members at the Semper Fi Fund office at the Marine Corps’ Wounded Warrior Battalion West Headquarters Building on Santa Margarita Drive, Camp Pendleton. Nokesville, Va. - The Semper Fi Fund is pleased to announce the Wounded Warrior Cutting Horse Classic III April 10-14, 2012.
As part of the Semper Fi Fund's Jinx McCain Horsemanship Program, ten select wounded, ill or injured Marines from the Marine Corps' Wounded Warrior Regiment will participate in the event at the D & M Cattle Company in Nokesville, Virginia. The Jinx McCain Horsemanship Program is a facet of the Semper Fi Fund's Team Semper Fi, which is a rehabilitative sports program made up of more than 300 injured service members who compete in athletic events across the country.
Boca Raton, FL – In April, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Women’s Softball Team will battle local Marines in a charity fast-pitch softball game. Reedley, CA – The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund will be sending 18 team members from Team Semper Fi to take part in this weekend’s Reedley Lions Club’s 23rd Annual Kings River Blossom Bike Ride.

The Semper Fi Odyssey program is a six-day, holistic transition assistance event designed to provide critically ill and injured service members and Veterans an opportunity to learn how to transition into civilian life by learning about life planning skills, establishing goals, employment resources and learning to balance four important MEPS elements: Mental, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual.

The top ten charities were chosen from a pool of 238 four-star charities, rated by Charity Navigator, America’s premiere independent charity evaluator. The top ten scored highest in overall financial responsibility, accountability and transparency.
The Semper Fi Fund received a four out of four star rating the past two years from Charity Navigator, and received an overall score of 67.96 (out of 70) in 2011. Dale City, VA -- The Semper Fi Fund will be hosting a “Purple Heart Ornament Packing Party” on November 20 at VFW Post 1503 in Dale City. The local community as well as staff from the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment will be coming together to package over 9,500 ornaments for post 9/11 Marine Corps Purple Heart recipients. Fortunate Sons, a group of 18 active-duty Marines that tag-teamed to complete their 1,000-mile North Carolina Mountains-to-Sea Trail” (MST) hike on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011.
