Semper Fi Fund Receives Grant From Wells Fargo Foundation

The Semper Fi Fund is pleased to announce its gift of a $75,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation, benefiting the Fund’s Semper Fi Odyssey transition program.

The Semper Fi Odyssey program is a six-day, holistic transition assistance event designed to provide critically ill and injured service members and Veterans an opportunity to learn how to transition into civilian life by learning about life planning skills, establishing goals, employment resources and learning to balance four important MEPS elements: Mental, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual.

MSN Money Selects Semper Fi Fund as Highest-Rated Charity

Camp Pendleton, CA – The Semper Fi Fund is pleased to announce its selection as one of the top ten highest-rated charities in America, according to personal finance news website mainstreet.com and also reported on MSN Money.

The top ten charities were chosen from a pool of 238 four-star charities, rated by Charity Navigator, America’s premiere independent charity evaluator. The top ten scored highest in overall financial responsibility, accountability and transparency.

The Semper Fi Fund received a four out of four star rating the past two years from Charity Navigator, and received an overall score of 67.96 (out of 70) in 2011. Marines finish 1,000 mile Hike for injured Marines

North Carolina – A group of U.S. Marines from North Carolina went above and beyond in what they are calling “an experience that we all will forever remember. A time when we all came together to help our fellow Marines.”

Fortunate Sons, a group of 18 active-duty Marines that tag-teamed to complete their 1,000-mile North Carolina Mountains-to-Sea Trail” (MST) hike on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011.
